Bayside police have arrested a man following an alleged Burglary in Sandringham on Tuesday evening.
Police responded to reports that a person had allegedly gained access to a closed construction site on Bay Road on 8 April about 8.20pm.
Swift responding officers arrived at the scene to allegedly find a man holding a hammer inside the location.
It is alleged that the man would not comply with police directions and subsequently OC spray was used during the arrest.
There were no injuries.
The man allegedly used the hammer prior to police arrival to damage a lock to a storeroom.
A 20-year-old Beveridge man was interviewed by police and released pending summons.
