A bus driver has been charged after a woman was seriously injured when struck at St Ives earlier this month.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Mona Vale Road and Memorial Avenue about 9.15pm on Tuesday 4 February 2025, after a 40-year-old woman was allegedly hit by a bus as she crossed the road.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman at the scene for critical head injuries before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.
Officers attached to Kuring-gai Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
The bus driver, a 54-year-old man, was arrested before being taken to the hospital for a mandatory testing.
Following inquiries by officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit, the driver has now been issued with a Future Court Attendance notice for the dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm), proceed through red traffic light, and not give way at lights to pedestrian on road being entered.
He is due to appear in Hornsby Local Court on 2 April 2025. The man's licence has been suspended.
The woman remains in hospital in a critical condition.
