Bus Shelter Advertising: Bayside

Bayside Council is looking for community feedback on a proposal to amend the Bayside Local Environmental Plan to simplify the approval process for bus shelter advertising in Bayside.

Currently advertising on bus shelters is only allowed in specific areas like local and commercial centres, general industrial, mixed-use and public recreation areas.

The proposal aims to amend the Bayside Local Environmental Plan to provide clear rules governing the process of bus shelter advertising including size and location requirements.

The proposal will simplify the planning approval pathway to advertise on bus shelters by including clear rules in the Bayside LEP 2021 about what's allowed. These provisions will control the size, level of illumination and location of the advertising to make sure there are no adverse impacts on the amenity of heritage sites or heritage conservation areas.

The proposal is on public exhibition until Monday 11 November and feedback can be provided via Council's Have Your Say portal.
