Tasmanian businesses have given a resounding vote of no confidence in the minority Rockliff government's management of the state's finances and the economy.
The TCCI's Survey of Business Expectations released today, found that a massive 68 per cent of respondents thought Tasmania's levels of debt and deficit were too high. Just 18 per cent thought debt and deficit was about right.
Under the Liberals, Tasmania has been plunged into record debt and deficit. Instead of coming up with a plan to repair the finances like Labor has, the Liberals have resorted to putting more and more on the state's credit card - impacting Tasmanians for generations to come and damaging business confidence.
As well as being concerned about the Liberals' financial management, the survey also showed that businesses aren't feeling too bright about the future under Premier Rockliff either.
55 per cent of Tasmanian businesses anticipate the Tasmanian economy to worsen over the next 12 months, compared to 47 per cent for the national economy. Just 19 per cent thought the economy would improve.
With over 6,000 jobs lost in Tasmania since the Premier lost control of the parliament, it's little wonder.
Earlier this year, the TCCI said the business community would find it hard to trust the Liberals again after the shambles that is the Spirits fiasco.
Today's survey provides more evidence to their claim.
