A Queensland retiree is already planning a luxury shopping spree following his huge windfall in the latest Saturday Gold Lotto draw, with his sights set on a high-end Swiss watch.
The North Queenslander from Mackay held one of the 10 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4507, drawn Saturday 28 September 2024 and looks forward to a total prize of $518,364.63.
“Oh! Oh!” he exclaimed when a lotto official confirmed his win.
“It’s all a bit overwhelming.
“I’ve been waiting for you to call since I checked the ticket yesterday afternoon. Initially, I thought I only had four numbers, but then I saw all six.
“I’m in my 80s now, and I’ve been playing for years and years.
“It’s all a bit of a blur!”
The cheerful man, excited to treat himself to a brand-new Swiss watch, also expressed his eagerness to renovate his caravan for traveling around Australia.
“I’ll probably celebrate by doing up my caravan and I’ll buy myself a new watch,” he said.
“I’ve always wanted a Tag Heuer watch!
“Can’t wait.”
His marked 18-game entry was purchased at South Mackay News, 152 Evans Street, Mackay South.
The South Mackay News team are overjoyed to have sold a division one winning entry in the Saturday Gold Lotto and wished their winner all the best.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4507 on 28 September 2024 were 34, 40, 29, 15, 19 and 37, while the supplementary numbers were 6 and 44.
Across Australia, there were 10 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4507 – four each in Queensland and Victoria, and two in Western Australia.
