Council's new premier facility for football in The Hills is one step closer with Council calling for expressions of interest for a long-term premier football partner for Caddies Creek Reserve Stage 2 in Beaumont Hills.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said the partnership will raise the district-level facility to new heights.

"Caddies Creek Reserve is already one of our largest and most central sports complexes, with access to Rouse Hill Town Centre and public transport from the North-West T-way and Metro stations close by," Mayor Byrne said.

"The partnership will unlock a range of opportunities for local football, with an additional four full-sized football fields, mini small-sided football fields, amenities building and more included in the plans."

"In 2024, football registrations in The Hills increased by ten per cent. The Hills Shire's population is growing rapidly, and the influx of new residents means we need more facilities like sports fields to service our community."

Council has been working to establish pathways to elite level participation in several popular sports through partnerships to provide state-of-the-art training and competition facilities.

Currently, premier facilities exist for basketball, tennis, AFL, cricket, and rugby league, with plans underway to develop premier facilities for football, hockey, and rugby union. The premier football partnership at Caddies Creek Reserve Stage 2 is a key step toward this vision.

"This will provide our residents with access to elite sporting opportunities and teams, potentially leading us to discover our next Matilda or Socceroo," Mayor Byrne said.

Caddies Creek Reserve currently features three full-sized football fields, baseball diamond, two amenities' buildings, playground, car park and shared pathway network. The reserve was opened in August 2018. In 2024, the NSW Government also opened Beaumont Hills Park, a skate park adjacent to Caddies Creek Reserve, as part of the Parks for People program.

The Draft Master Plan for Caddies Creek Sports Complex – Stage 2 was adopted by Council following community consultation in October 2021. Once completed, Caddies Creek Reserve will feature:

  • An additional four full-sized football fields
  • mini small-sided football fields
  • amenities building
  • car park and
  • pathways and access to the site from Windsor Road and Sanctuary Drive.
