Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a single vehicle crash which occurred during the early hours of this morning at Cossack.
A vehicle travelling inbound towards Katherine has left Florina Road, crossing a driveway, before striking a power pole head on. The vehicle involved has then driven away after the incident, Northern Territory Police say
As a result of the incident, power was disrupted to a property and Power and Water are replacing the power pole due to the extensive damage.
Several items have been recovered from the scene. They include:
- a distinctive large size socket set for use on large size vehicles
- an air compressor
- a spotlight cover and
- several pieces of work gear.
Based on this information, officers believe the vehicle involved may be a work vehicle, possible a 4x4 or utility with a bullbar and spotlights. The vehicle will likely have noticeable damage to the front end.
Investigations into the crash are currently ongoing.
