Camden Christmas Festival success

Camden Christmas Festival

Camden Christmas Festival has been hailed a success after thousands gathered to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year in Camden Town Centre on Saturday.

The event saw Argyle Street in Camden turn into a Christmas wonderland and included the lighting of the community Christmas tree, live music, market stalls, amusements and a very special visit from Santa himself.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said it was fantastic to see residents and visitors celebrate Christmas all together.

"Camden has plenty to celebrate after supporting each other through thick and thin over the past few years and it was great to welcome everyone back into the town centre in particular after four devastating floods this year," Cr Fedeli said.

"We have been very unlucky to not host many major events over the past few years, so I am very happy to have seen everyone getting into the Christmas spirit.

"It was equally enjoyable to announce the Mayoral Christmas Card Competition winner on the night."

The festivities continue with the free Oran Park Christmas Concert on Thursday 1 December, 5-9pm, at Oran Park Civic Precinct on Central Avenue. The event will see the lighting of the Oran Park Christmas Tree as well as Christmas entertainment, markets and activities and another visit from Saint Nick.
