Camden Council's 2023-2024 Annual Report outlines a range of achievements and outcomes throughout the year, reflecting on Council's dedication to delivering services to the wider community and enhancing our local government area.
Camden Mayor, Clr Ashleigh Cagney said the 2023 - 2024 Annual Report highlighted the significant strides that Council has achieved to enhance the economic, social, and physical landscape of our community, ensuring quality of life and wellbeing of our residents.
Mayor Cagney said, "Camden has continued to thrive and grow. We're committed to providing high-quality infrastructure and initiatives that support our community's present and future needs.
"We completed the construction of the $67 million Oran Park Leisure Centre which was Camden's biggest ever project and it's now become Southwest Sydney's premier leisure and aquatic centre.
"Then there was the Camden Volunteer Expo, a first of its kind for Council, which brought the community together to find out how they could make valuable contributions to vital programs in the community," Mayor Cagney said.
"Our dedication to fostering a sustainable and inclusive environment is evident through various initiatives. We planted 3,000 trees during National Tree Day, managed 95 hectares of natural areas and collaborated with organisations like RecycleSmart that has provided innovative recycling solutions," she said.
"We have made significant advancements in community engagement and support. The Oran Park Christmas Concert and Camden Christmas Festival attracted over 20,000 people in total and this showcased the vibrant spirit of our community," she said.
