Deputy Secretary of State Kurt M. Campbell met today with Japanese Special Advisor to the Prime Minister Nagashima Akihisa. They discussed regional security and U.S.-Japan defense ties, including co-production of defense articles. Deputy Secretary Campbell affirmed the importance of cooperation with Indo-Pacific allies and partners to safeguard peace and security in the region.
