Camperdown is in the running to follow Timboon which won gold as the Top Tiny Tourism Town for Victoria last year.
Camperdown is a finalist in the Small Town category of the 2025 VTIC Top Tourism Town awards.
Corangamite Shire Council made a submission based on a walk-and-ride itinerary following a rail journey into Camperdown.
Mayor Kate Makin encouraged everyone to support Camperdown when public voting opens this Friday.
"A judging panel announced the finalists on Friday 30 May and category winners will be decided by public votes.
"Voting closes Friday 27 June and the category winners will be announced on Thursday 24 July, then go into the national finals."
Cr Makin said Council's submission was aimed at international students, inviting them to come and enjoy an active lifestyle in our magnificent surroundings.
"For the submission, Council's Economy and Prosperity team filmed a promotional video, prepared an editorial article and planned an itinerary to attract more visitors, and inspire them to stay longer," she said.
"It puts the spotlight on various local businesses and scenic locations and includes the train timetables to show how easy it is to get here from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne.
