Canada Invests $11.7M in Biodiversity Conservation

Environment and Climate Change Canada

On August 22, 2024, the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, announced over $11.7 million for biosphere regions across Canada. This funding will support projects led by the Canadian Biosphere Regions Association and the network of 19 biosphere regions across the country that are located in areas with high conservation value and potential. The funding will also help communities thrive in harmony with nature. This is in addition to $11.3 million in funding that the biosphere regions have received since 2021.
