Canadian Tech Set for Firefly's Blue Ghost Mission 1

CA Gov

Longueuil, Quebec, - On , Firefly's Blue Ghost Mission 1 is set to launch on a Falcon 9 rocket with Canadian technologies on board. During this lunar mission, two Canadian companies that received funding from the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) will demonstrate their technologies: a 360-degree imaging system on the Blue Ghost lander (Canadensys) and a global lunar navigation system (NGC Aerospace).

Humans are going back to the Moon with long-term exploration goals. To achieve this, we need innovative technologies that will allow people to live and work on the lunar surface. Through its Lunar Exploration Accelerator Program, the CSA helps accelerate the development of new lunar technologies, which will contribute to Canada's competitive advantage in space. With demonstrations such as Blue Ghost Mission 1, companies can ensure that their technologies will support missions to the Moon and withstand the harsh conditions of environments like the lunar surface.

Journalists who wish to request an interview with a company representative or a CSA expert are asked to contact the Media Relations Office.
