A Gold Coast woman is celebrating a life-changing windfall after her lucky numbers, played since she was 18, scored her a Division One win in last night's Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw.
The Broadbeach resident held one of four division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4381 on Wednesday 10 April 2024. Each entry scored $1 million.
In addition to division one, the longtime Gold Lotto player also scored division three 6 times, bolstering her total windfall to $1,002,239.80.
“Thank you! I feel numb!” she laughed when a lotto official called this morning.
“I checked my ticket last night and I was in complete shock! The whole family was.
“I kept thinking ‘This can’t be real; this can’t be real!’. I couldn’t sleep at all.
“I was waiting for you guys to call to make sure it was legitimate. Finally, I can let the win sink in.
“I had to cancel work this morning because I knew I wouldn’t be able to do my job properly.
“It’s funny, I’ve been playing these same numbers since I was 18!
“I hardly know why I picked them. I just remember I won a bit on them once, so I liked them and kept using them.
“For years, I haven’t won anything with them, hardly a couple of dollars. I was starting to think I needed to change it up!”
After tossing and turning with excitement all last night, the winning woman revealed she’d had plenty of time to think about how she would enjoy her prize.
“It’s truly amazing. We have a lot of people we want to give money to.
“We’ll also be able to pay off the mortgage! Then we can just relax! Maybe do some travel.
“My husband has been doing tough work his whole life. He works so hard, so I think this will help him retire, which I’m honestly happiest about because he deserves it!”
The winning woman’s marked System 7 entry was purchased online via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4381 on Wednesday 10 April 2024 were 5, 34, 29, 23, 44 and 26, while the supplementary numbers were 20 and 16.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4381 – two in Queensland, one in New South Wales and one in Western Australia.
