Carine Leeflang has been volunteering with us since 2007, most recently joining our Community Engagement team in Subiaco to assist with fundraising support. As a passionate believer in our vision of a future without cancer, Carine has decided to leave a gift in her Will.
Carine has seen her fair share of friends and family diagnosed with cancer, including her husband, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in 1987 and passed away in 2013.
For Carine, it was an automatic thought for her to leave a gift in her Will to Cancer Council WA and has kindly shared her story to encourage others to do the same.
Carine said it is important for people to leave a gift in their Will to Cancer Council WA as she has seen first-hand how challenging life can be for those impacted by cancer.
"You don't have to be rich to leave something in your Will to Cancer Council WA. Every little bit is important, and many little donations can end up making a big difference to the lives of many."
We are incredibly grateful for volunteers and supporters like Carine. As a community-funded organisation we rely on donations, fundraising and support to continue funding life-saving cancer research, running state-wide prevention programs and providing much-needed support to West Australian families affected by cancer.
Including a gift for us in your Will, no matter the size, will make a real difference in helping us to reduce the impact and incidence of cancer in our community.
