Cannabis plants seized, man charged in Faulconbridge

A man has been refused bail and will appear in court today after police conducted a search warrant and allegedly located cannabis plants at a house in the Blue Mountains, NSW Police say.

In February 2018, police commenced an investigation into the suspected cultivation of cannabis plants in Faulconbridge.

Yesterday, (Tuesday 13 March 2018), police attended Coomassie Avenue to execute search warrant and allegedly located a number of rooms within the house had been converted into hydroponic set-ups.

Police allegedly located 650 plants with an estimated street value of $1.627 million.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and taken to Katoomba Police Station. He has been charged with enhanced indoor cultivation of plant for commercial purpose, organise/conduct/assist drug premise, found on/entering drug premise and use/consume electricity without authority.

The man was refused bail and is expected to appear in Penrith Local Court today (Wednesday 14 March 2018).
