More than 50 people have been charged since Operation Whiskey Legion commenced in the Capricornia District this week.
The multi-level operation, which commenced on Wednesday, October 16, involves an injection of specialist police resources teaming up with local officers to tackle high-harm offenders throughout the area.
Since commencing, 57 people have been charged with 147 offences, including six young people on 15 charges.
Police continue to be present at hotspot locations including shopping centres, community events, highways and roads.
Since Wednesday, police have conducted 19 patrols of hotspot areas and engaged with 126 people throughout the community about crime prevention and safety.
This includes our highways and roads, with 94 traffic infringement notices issued, 1,096 roadside breath tests, and 31 roadside drug tests conducted.
Around 10.18am yesterday, a Highway Patrol officer recorded a driver traveling along the Capricorn Highway at Fairy Bower at a speed of 130 km/h in a 80 km/h zone.
Two passengers, a woman and 2-month-old child were present in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
The 32-year-old Wandal man has been issued a traffic ingringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 40 km/h (Type 2 offence) worth $1,854 and eight demerit points.
Since Operation Whiskey Legion began in April, a total of 3,746 people have been arrested on 9,301 charges.
