Police are investigating after a car was driven into a coffee shop at Broadbeach this afternoon, injuring seven people.
Around 1.44pm, police were notified that a purple 2013 Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback had crashed into the café, located on the corner of Victoria Avenue and Surf Parade.
Five people were transported to Robina and Gold Coast University Hospitals suffering minor injuries, while two others were treated at the scene for superficial injuries.
The coffee shop was extensively damaged.
The 83-year-old male driver from Mermaid Waters is assisting police with enquiries.
Investigations continue.
