Car Into House At Port Macquarie

Police have commenced an investigation after a car crashed into a house on the states mid north coast.

About 9.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 25 February 2025), emergency services responded to reports that a car had crashed into the roof of a home along Hindman Street, Port Macquarie.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle – a 38-year-old man – was trapped in the vehicle for about 25 minutes until released by NSW Ambulance paramedics, Fire and Rescue NSW and State Emergency Services personnel.

It will be alleged that the driver refused to undergo a breath test.

The man was arrested by officers from the Mid North Coast Police District and taken to Port Macquarie Hospital to undergo a blood test where he was later released pending further inquiries.

Investigations have established that the vehicle crashed into a safety barrier and boundary fence before becoming airborne and colliding into the premises.

At the time of the incident a 62-year-old man was in the residence. Extensive damage was sustained to the dwelling.

There were no reports of any person being injured.
