Carbon Farming Training Program Launched

Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

A training package is now available under the Carbon Farming Outreach Program.

This information will help farmers and land managers reduce greenhouse gas emissions and store carbon.

We developed the package with the University of Melbourne and its partners, the Indigenous Carbon Industry Network and Indigenous Professional Services.

The Australian Government has provided $17.5 million to independent advisers. They will deliver training and advice to farmers and land managers.

The Government has also announced $30.8 million to:

  • expand the Carbon Farming Outreach Program
  • establish a 'knowledge bank' to integrate existing training with new tailored resources
  • support Rural Research and Development Corporations developing commodity-specific information for the knowledge bank.
