Carbon offsets scheme for Indo-Pacific expanded to $104 million over 10 years

The Australian Government has expanded the Indo-Pacific Carbon Offsets Scheme to run for 10 years with $104 million in funding. This reflects Australia's long-term commitment to the Paris Agreement and reducing emissions in the region.

The expansion will:

  • increase the international partnerships under the scheme
  • fund policy framework, emissions reporting and transparency support for partners.

The scheme will boost public and private investment in climate action projects in the Indo-Pacific region. It will also offer environmental and social benefits to local communities.
