Cardiologist Revolutionizes Arrhythmia Care

From clinical care to research, Wendy Tzou, MD, shares her dream of establishing an Arrhythmia Center of Excellence at CU Anschutz

Experiencing an irregular heartbeat - too fast, too slow or even skipping beats - can be frightening and often results in a trip to the emergency department.

Until five to 10 years ago, treatment options were limited for people with irregular heartbeats, or arrhythmias. Today, outcomes for patients with heart irregularities are improving because of cardiologists such as Wendy Tzou, MD, FACC, FHRS, professor of medicine and director of cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Tzou specializes in the management of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and cardiac implantable electronic devices. She recently shared what it's like to live her dreams as a clinician and researcher at CU Anschutz.
