Lucindale will be on Australia's musical map on Saturday (14 September) as the Limestone Coast township plays host to Triple j's One Night Stand.
At least 20,000 eager music-lovers are anticipated at the one-day festival, which is being headlined by the Hilltop Hoods.
South Australia Police are today urging drivers to be patient on the road driving in to and from Lucindale and reminding all road users to play their part in keeping the state's roads injury and fatality-free.
The Operations Manager of the Limestone Coast Local Service Area, Inspector Campbell Hill said police expect significant demand on the road network in the area in the lead up to the event.
"We are asking those driving to the region to exercise courtesy and patience, given higher than usual number of vehicles expected in the area," he said.
"We want everyone to have a good time, which means taking care, allowing a little extra time to get to your destination and taking regular driving breaks to check out the scenery along the way!"
Although an enjoyable event is anticipated at the drug and alcohol-free festival, police will be on the lookout for intoxication, drug use and any-anti-social behaviour, he added.
Police will deploy drug detection dogs at the event gates to identify and apprehend any person attempting to smuggle in illegal substances.
Triple j's one night stand is a free, all-ages event that is alcohol and drug free.
"The safety and welfare of festival-goers, as well as those living or driving in the area, is the foremost priority for SA Police," Inspector Hill said.
Alongside foot and bicycle patrols, Mounted Operations officers will be in attendance, helping to monitor the venue and escort evictees.
Police officers on foot patrol at the event will be wearing high visibility vests - making them easy to identify should anyone need help. Those who do drive to the venue are also being reminded to ensure they lock their vehicle and conceal any valuables.
Drivers are asked to please be alert to extra pedestrian traffic in the township itself.
