A generous donation from Esk Community Op Shop has seen a much-needed new air conditioning system installed at the Carinity Our House disability support service in Toogoolawah.

"Quality rest is vital for our support workers to continue providing the excellent services for which Our House is best known, and this air conditioning will be a blessing for our staff during the hot summer," Maggie said.

"All guest bedrooms and living spaces in Carinity Our House are now air conditioned, providing an even more comfortable home away from home for people in the Somerset Region living with physical or intellectual disability."

The $5,000 donation from Esk Community Op Shop also allowed Carinity to purchase large planter pots, garden soil and a water feature, providing a calm and tranquil sensory space for mindfulness, de-escalation and rejuvenation.

Maggie said the donation was welcomed and strengthened Carinity Our House's strong relationship with the op shop.

"We wish to thank Esk Community Op Shop for giving Our House this financial support, as well as providing opportunities for participants to get valuable volunteer work experience," Maggie said.
