Carinity Education Shalom has celebrated the Townsville school's first graduating class.
A cohort of eight Year 12 students graduated this week, having completed their studies at the school.
Students, family members and school staff celebrated the milestone at an all-of-school event held at Northreach Baptist Church on November 15.
It is the first graduating class since the school in Condon was acquired by Carinity and saved from closure in 2018.
The school re-opened in 2019 and student numbers have tripled since that time. The school has added one new student grade each year since re-opening.
Four of the eight graduating students attended the school since Prep grade, when it was known as Shalom Christian College and under different ownership.
Carinity Education Shalom Head of School, Sharyn Ive, said she was proud to ensure the students had the opportunity to continue their education at the school.
She added that seeing the first cohort of senior students graduate was "a bittersweet moment for me".
"I have had the privilege of being with these students since their first days at school, many of them starting in Prep," Sharyn said.
"Watching them grow has been an overwhelming blessing, and I find myself filled with joy, excitement, and a few tears as they are now graduating as part of the Shalom family.
"I feel immense pride and excitement, knowing that we planted the seed together, and I was part of nurturing their journey."
Carinity Education Shalom is an independent Prep to Year 12 school that provides a culturally sensitive and supportive learning environment for its young people, 92% of which identify as First Nations Australians.
It is one of five Carinity Education schools around Queensland, the others being in Hervey Bay, Gladstone, Rockhampton and Brisbane.
