The City of Hobart is delighted to support the festive season by funding a variety of community Christmas carol events that cater to diverse musical tastes and bring the community together.
The City's financial contribution, totalling $58,075, underscores the importance of shared experiences and community connections during the holiday season.
The festivities kick off on Saturday, December 7, with three events marking the start of the carolling season:
- Carols on the Hill (hosted by the Archdiocese of Hobart)
- Carols in the Park (hosted by the Soul Presbyterian Church)
- Carols at John Turnbull Park (hosted by the Lenah Valley Community Association).
A favourite among locals, the Carols on the Hill event has become a family-friendly highlight, set on the Guilford Young College oval overlooking Hobart.
Other events supported by the City of Hobart include:
- Monday, December 9 – Christmas Carol Singing (hosted by Sing Australia Hobart)
- Saturday, December 14 – Christmas Carols 2024 (hosted by The Multicultural Women's Council of Tasmania)
- Sunday, December 15 – Christmas Carols in Mount Stuart (hosted by the Mount Stuart Residents Inc.)
- Saturday, December 21 – Christmas Carol Concert (hosted by St David's Cathedral).
