Cart full of smiles

Ronald McDonald House Charities are continuing to bring smiles and joy to our patients with a new hospitality cart being rolled out at Nepean Hospital.

Operated by volunteers of Ronald McDonald House Charities, the new cart makes the rounds of our Children's' and Neonatal Intensive Care wards twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturday's between 9:30am and 12:30pm.

Packed with toys, colouring in books and pencils, the cart has plenty of items to keep our youngest patients entertained. Parents and other loved ones are also catered for with snacks and hygiene products available, just in case they've forgotten a toothbrush or need a bottle of water.

Volunteer Coordinator, Mez Nessi says the smiles on the kids faces as she roams around the wards makes her day.

"One little girl lit up when we offered her some toys, you know, 'I love colouring!' And it's always a good feeling when their parent asks for a stick of deodorant or a toothbrush, to be able to give them that small sense of relief."

Nepean Hospital has had a proud partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities for many years and is incredibly grateful for the support and generosity they provide families who are experiencing difficult times.
