A man has been charged with murder and a woman has died after she was found critically injured at a home in Casino this morning.
Police attended a home on Johnston Street, Casino, about 2.30am (Saturday 29 June 2024), following reports of a concern for welfare.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District arrived and rendered first aid to a woman – believed to be aged in her 40s – suffering head injuries; however, she died at the scene.
A 31-year-old man – who police will allege was known to the woman – was arrested at the home and taken to Lismore Police Station, where he has now been charged with one count of murder.
The Casino man has been refused bail before his appearance in Lismore Bail Court tomorrow (Sunday 30 June 2024).
