The countdown is on to the opening for the new Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre at the site of the old Casuarina Pool. When it opens, the Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre will be a world-class, dynamic community facility for people of all ages to use and enjoy.
The Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure will open in mid-2024, and City of Darwin will host a family fun day to celebrate the occasion. More details on the festivities will be announced closer to the launch date.
The facility will offer three new pools for locals to take advantage of: a refurbished, Olympic size eight-lane lap pool, updated with the newest Myrtha technology all the way from Italy, a new resort-style lagoon pool perfect for relaxation and a six-lane, 25-metre learn-to-swim pool.
The safety and accessibility have been front of mind in the design and construction, with the centre meeting recognised best practice in pool design by including maximum accessibility options: zero-depth access to all pools and equal access to amenities, buildings, playgrounds and open play and recreation areas.
