Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after shots were fired into a property in Tarneit earlier this month.
Investigators have been told shots were fired into the front of the property on St Michaels Drive just before 3am on 3 September.
Two adults and three children were inside the property at the time and were not injured.
Detectives have released CCTV footage showing a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
He is wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.
