Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released CCTV as part of their investigation into the fire at a vacant property in Northcote earlier this year.
Emergency services responded to the property on St Georges Road fully engulfed about 4am on Thursday, 11 April.
There was no one inside the premises at the time and occupants from neighbouring homes were evacuated safely.
The CCTV footage depicts an unknown man walking east along Hawthorn Road carrying a yellow jerry can.
The male is wearing a baseball cap, red coloured jacket, dark pants and has a distinctive limp.
