CCTV Released After Tyre Slashing Spree

Melbourne East Neighbourhood Policing Unit have released CCTV footage of a man as part of their investigation into a spree of tyre slashings last month.

It is understood a sharp object was used to slash tyres on 38 vehicles that were parked on the southern side of George Street, East Melbourne.

Police were told 45 tyres were slashed in the senseless act which occurred about 1.15am on 12 July.

The offending caused significant inconvenience to the vehicle owners who notified police of the damage the following morning.

Investigators have released CCTV and images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be Caucasian, with a large build, fair hair with a light-brown handlebar moustache.

He is pictured wearing a distinctive black hooded jumper with white writing "Brooklyn 76 Athletics", dark jeans and black sneakers.
