CCTV Released in Neutral Bay Attempted Assault

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance after the attempted sexual assault of a woman on Sydney's North Shore yesterday.

About 3.30am (Thursday 20 March 2025), a 36-year-old woman caught a bus to Neutral Bay after finishing work.

While walking down Wycombe Road, the woman was grabbed from behind by a man who covered her mouth, interfered with her clothing and pushed her against a nearby garage door.

The man – described as being of Caucasian appearance – pinned her against the door before removing his pants. The woman was able to kick and bite the man before he fled on foot towards Military Road.

The woman sustained a laceration to her elbow; however, did not require medical treatment.

A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.

As investigations continue, detectives have released CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged 18 to 20, of slim build and short light brown hair.

He is shown wearing a light-coloured beige t-shirt, light blue denim shorts and running shoes.
