Charles Darwin University (CDU) graduates considering further study could be eligible for a discount on tuition fees, thanks to a new CDU initiative promoting lifelong learning opportunities.
From Semester 1 2025, CDU alumni who meet the criteria and enrol in an eligible postgraduate qualification can receive a 10 per cent fee reduction on courses.
To be classified as alumni of CDU, applicants must have graduated with an award course from the University, which includes Certificate I through to a Diploma, Bachelor degrees (including Honours), Graduate Certificates, Master degrees, and Higher degrees by Research.
Course areas include, but are not limited to, master-level qualifications in business administration, clinical audiology, occupational therapy, engineering, specialist education and project management.
The discount is only available to domestic students who commence their studies from Semester 1 2025.
CDU Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Scott Bowman said the initiative honoured the University's shared history with the Territory community.
"For many people in the Territory, the University was vital for their education journey," Professor Bowman said.
"We want to acknowledge that history and give something back for people who want to continue or change their career through postgraduate study.
"We are also extending this opportunity to alumni who graduated from the Northern Territory University, Darwin Institute of Technology, Darwin Community College and Centralian College.
"Regardless of whether you graduated one year ago or 10 years ago, we want to ensure CDU alumni have the chance to continue their learning journey throughout their lives."
The discount is valid for the entire duration of the course, providing all conditions are met.
The discount cannot be applied to any units from a partner institution or organisation, and a review of academic progress and enrolment may be carried out following each census date.
