Festival of Voices is one of Tasmania's most iconic cultural events and is a key part of the events calendar for many Tasmanians.
Minister for the Arts Elise Archer said the Tasmanian Government is a proud supporter of the Festival, which is why we have invested $2.25 million to secure the festival's future in Tasmania through to 2022.
"This year's festival program features a broad, bright and bold array of local and interstate talent, with something on offer for all ages, interests and musical tastes," Minister Archer said.
"The Festival has progressively grown in its reach and reputation, and is now known internationally as Australia's premier celebration of voice.
"Whether it's listening to some amazing vocal talent, taking in a pop-up performance or participating in one of the many workshops or masterclasses on offer, there is something for everyone to enjoy."
Minister for Hospitality and Events, Sarah Courtney said the Festival is an important feature of the Government's Major Event Partnerships Program.
"The Festival of Voices is an integral part of our fantastic suite of winter events in Tasmania that also includes AFL games, Dark Mofo and the Huon Valley Mid-Winter Festival," Minister Courtney said.
"It helps us attract visitors to Tasmania through the quieter winter months, giving an important boost to our tourism and hospitality sectors and allowing them to continue to grow right throughout the year.
"While this year has been more challenging due to COVID, congratulations to the Festival of Voices team for working with Public Health and delivering the event in a COVID-safe way."
