Cressy's Lamb of Tasmania (Tasmanian Quality Meats) has been named the 2023 Tasmanian Exporter of the Year at the 29th Tasmanian Export Awards held in Launceston on Friday.
Premier and Minister for Trade, Jeremy Rockliff, congratulated Lamb of Tasmania on taking out the prestigious Exporter of the Year title.
"One of Tasmania's many success stories, this exceptional family-owned business has a strong focus on sustainable and high-quality red meat, and exports to more than 17 countries," the Premier said.
"The Export Awards is an important opportunity to showcase and celebrate the outstanding exporting capabilities of Tasmanian businesses from an impressive breadth of industries, including the creative arts, technology, advanced manufacturing and food and beverages.
"It is wonderful to see so many sponsors supporting this year's awards and our exporting community. I'd especially like to thank TasPorts for their continued support as Major Award sponsor."
The Premier congratulated all nine winners and wished them luck as they go on to represent Tasmania in November at the national Export Awards in Canberra.
"Our export sector is going from strength to strength with goods and service exports reaching $6.15 billion for 2021-22," Mr Rockliff said.
"An integral part of the Trade Action Plan 2023-24, we hope these awards encourage even more Tasmanian businesses to export nationally and internationally.
"The Tasmanian Liberal Government is delivering on our long-term plan to continue to grow our exporting industry which helps to grow our economy and create more job opportunities for Tasmanians."
