Central Coast Hazard Reduction Burn

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is planning a hazard reduction burn in Bouddi National Park from Tuesday 3 September, weather permitting.

Hazard reduction burn in Bouddi National Park

The hazard reduction burn is set to treat approximately 58.75 ha of bushland over a 2 day period and will commence off MacMasters Ridge Trail.

The planned burn will help to improve protection for nearby properties in Bensville, particularly those on Karuk, Wards, Yarram and Huntly Roads in the event of future bushfires.

Planned low intensity burns also aim to improve park's biodiversity and provide safer access for firefighters.

Smoke may impact properties in Bensville and Empire Bay. Motorists should exercise caution when driving in the area.

Turkey Track, North West Ridge Trail, MacMasters Ridge Trail and Little Valley Trail in Bouddi National Park will be closed until NPWS and the NSW Rural Fire Service determine the area is safe.

The public should not enter this area while the operation is underway. Visitors must check NPWS Alerts for up-to-date information on closures.
