CEO Recruitment Underway

The search for a new permanent CEO for Central Goldfields Shire commenced this week.

The recruitment process is being led by the CEO Employment Matters Committee with the support of independent and experienced local government recruiter Christine Mileham from Sal Corp as Chair.

Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Cr Grace La Vella said significant interest in the position was expected.

"Recruiting a new, permanent CEO is one of the most important priorities and decisions for us as a new Council and we are looking forward to recruiting an inspirational leader who will champion our community and ensure delivery of our Council Plan.

"This is an important appointment for the organisation and the community. The role of our CEO is a critical leadership role in our community, with the successful candidate to lead a large organisation working in and for the community.

"We're seeking a visionary CEO who will lead the organisation to meet the requirements of the Local Government Act, whilst continuing to deliver services for our community in a financially constrained environment.

"We have set up a robust recruitment process within the obligations of the Local Government Act, with an experienced executive recruiter who specialises in our sector to undertake the recruitment process.

"We are thrilled to be closely involved with the process and very confident our community will benefit from this partnership with our Chair, whose extensive network connections has already supported us immensely.

"We extend our thanks to our Interim CEO Sally Jones for her continued leadership which will remain in place until a new CEO is recruited.

"We look forward to making an appointment and will keep the community updated."

The full-time role will be a full-time, five-year fixed contract position.
