Bayside Council honoured the outstanding achievements of individual community members at the final Council Meeting of the term on Wednesday 28 August.
Five residents were recognised and presented with a certificate acknowledging their individual achievements.
Lynda Craig was thanked for her outstanding 10-year voluntary service as a Justice of the Peace at Eastgardens Library.
Carloyn Wang, who represented Australia in the 17th International Earth Science Olympiad competition in China, received a certificate for her achievement.
Aaveer Patil-Chaudhari, who was selected to represent Australia at the Eastern Seaboard Regatta in Thailand, and Sienna DeBonnis who played in the U14 Junior Premier League team at the Basketball NSW Spalding Waratah Junior League in Victoria, received certificates acknowledging their achievements.
Tahlia Dunne also received a certificate for representing Australia in the Senior Women's Freestyle Solo at the 2024 IBTF World Freestyle and Rhythmic Twirl Championship held in Helsingborg, Sweden.
Council was also thanked for hosting an Executive Meeting of the Australian Local Government Women's Association.
Laraine Mackenzie and Tanya Wood presented Council with a copy of Design with Landscape, by landscape architect Bruce Mackenzie, who was responsible for the design of the foreshore reserve area of Sir Joseph Banks Park in the mid-70s.
