The ACT Government wishes to advise residents of changes to bin collection services on Christmas Day.
Bin collections scheduled for Christmas Day, Monday 25 December 2023, will take place on Saturday 23 December 2023.
Impacted suburbs are:
Belconnen, Chapman, Chifley, Coombs, Curtin, Denman Prospect, Duffy, Farrer, Fisher, Holder, Kambah, Lyons, Mawson, Molonglo, Pearce, Phillip, Rivett, Stirling, Torrens, Uriarra Village, Waramanga, Weston, Whitlam, Wright and Yarralumla.
All other collections will occur as per the current schedule.
The Mugga Lane and Mitchell Resource Management Centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Monday 25 December 2023.
The Recycling Drop Off Centres located in Belconnen, Mitchell, Gungahlin, Phillip and Tuggeranong are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Christmas Day. These facilities accept steel and aluminium cans, paper, cardboard and rigid plastic containers.
Residents are reminded to correctly dispose of hazardous waste like batteries and gas bottles, which can cause fires if placed in household bins.
Residents can visit www.act.gov.au/recyclopaedia to find out where they can safely dispose of batteries, gas bottles and a range of other common items.
