With the first vaccination milestone being reached, the NSW Government is easing a number of restrictions as part of the Reopening NSW roadmap, which will allow fully vaccinated adults to enjoy more freedoms from next Monday, October 11.
As NSW reopens, persons aged 16 and over will only be permitted to enter certain venues or settings if they are fully vaccinated or have a medical exemption, which includes libraries.
From Monday 11 October 2021, all visitors to the libraries in Parkes, Trundle, Tullamore and Peak Hill, will need to show proof of their full vaccination status. There are three different types of evidence that can be shown, including the COVID-19 digital certificate, printed version of the COVID-19 digital certificate and the Service NSW certificate. For those that don't have a Medicare card, you can show your immunisation history statement as your proof you your vaccination status.
These certificates can be accessed through your myGov account. Services Australia has a tool on their website to help you access your digital certificate: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/subjects/getting-help-during-coronavirus-covid-19/covid-19-vaccinations/how-get-proof.
The Public Health Order also requires children under the age of 16 who visit the library to be accompanied by a family member who is fully vaccinated.
Manager Cultural Education and Library Services Kerryn Jones said, "The Parkes Shire Library service must comply with the Public Health Order. We are looking to support our community in every way that we can. If you need help with locating and downloading these certificates, the Parkes Library staff will be able to assist patrons needing to print their vaccination certificate in the library foyer.
"We will also be continuing our home delivery service to patrons who are unable to come into the Library. This service includes books, DVDs, audiobooks and family friendly games," added Kerryn.
At the 24-hour branches in Trundle and Tullamore, patrons will need to provide their vaccination status to continue to use the service. The service will be temporarily unavailable until staff can contact all users. The staff are aiming to have it available again from Friday 15 October.
"We understand that this is a challenging time for our community. We want to reassure all our patrons that we will do our very best to continue to support you and offer services to the best of our ability, in line with the Public Health Order," said Kerryn.
