A 22-year-old male has been charged in relation to an indecent assault that occurred in Tennant Creek earlier this week.
Detectives from the Regional Crime Division were able to identify the offender through DNA analysis, and he was taken to Tennant Creek Watch House, where he was charged with gross indecency involving child.
The alleged assault occurred on the evening of 13 February 2023, when the male offender approached the victim at the front of her residence, before leading her into a nearby abandoned vehicle where the indecent assault occurred.
Detective Acting Superintendent Michael Schumacher said "This behaviour is unacceptable and Police will use all the resources available to them, to identify and arrest offenders."
