Charges Filed After Fatal Mount Moriac Crash

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a driver following a fatal collision in Mount Moriac on 20 December.

It is alleged a Mazda CX5 and a Toyota Landcruiser collided near the intersection of Cape Otway Road and the Princes Highway about 11.30am.

A 62-year-old Docklands man, a passenger of the Mazda, died at the scene.

A 22-year-old Docklands woman, a passenger of the Mazda, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver and the fourth passenger of the Mazda and the sole occupant of the Toyota were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Mazda, a 28-year-old Oakleigh woman, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, careless driving and fail to stop at stop sign.

She has been bailed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates' Court on 24 January.
