Joondalup Detectives have charged a 24-year-old man in relation to a serious assault that occurred in Butler on Thursday 27 June 2024.
About 12:20am, it will be alleged the man attended a park on Brampton Avenue armed with a baseball bat.
It will be further alleged the man used the baseball bat to seriously assault the victim – a 29-year-old man - who was also at the park at the time.
It is believed the man arranged to meet at the park with a group of others, following a previous incident in Alkimos on 26 June 2024.
The victim sustained serious facial injuries and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital, where he later underwent surgery.
On Tuesday 16 July 2024, the 24-year-old male was arrested at a home in Jindalee and has since been charged with one count of 'Grievous Bodily Harm'.
He is next due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on 31 July 2024.
