Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after an extended follow and crash in Hoppers Crossing yesterday morning.
Officers will allege a white Mazda Bravo utility, stolen from Hamlyn Heights, was sighted by police driving in Gheringhap about 9.05am.
Officers followed the ute through Geelong, Werribee and Hoppers Crossing before the Mazda crashed into a tree on Morris Road, at the intersection of Sayers Road, about 10.30am.
The driver was arrested at the scene and hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 25-year-old Sunshine North man has since been charged with reckless conduct endanger serious injury, theft of motor vehicle, handle stolen goods, possess a drug of dependence and drive whilst disqualified.
He has been remanded to appear at the Geelong Magistrates' Court on 5 August.
