Charges Laid for Indecent Assaults in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to indecent behaviour in Alice Springs yesterday.

Around 5pm, police received a report of a man allegedly indecently exposing himself to a woman on Leichardt Terrace before grabbing her and exposing himself again. The victim fled into a nearby building and contacted police.

The offender has allegedly fled the scene and approached another woman, walking along Gregory Terrace, before grabbing her and running back towards Leichardt Terrace.

The offender has allegedly exposed himself again to a third woman before running towards the Todd River.

Alice Springs police deployed into the area and arrested a 20-year-old man on Undoolya Road a short time later.

He remains in custody and will appear in court today, charged with multiple offences.

Detective Senior Sergeant Marcus Becker said, "This was disgusting behaviour that was incredibly traumatic for the woman targeted.

"Police would like to thank those that quickly contacted triple zero and I commend the general duties officers that arrested this offender so quickly.

"Anyone who witnessed yesterday events, or who has information, is urged to make contact on 131 444 and quote reference P24204568."
