Police have charged an 18-year-old woman and two female youths with attempted aggravated robbery following an incident on Main Road, Glenorchy last month.
Inspector Jason Klug said the incident occurred near a bus stop about 4.45pm on 31 July.
"The matter was initially reported as an assault, but subsequent investigations have determined the matter should be upgraded," he said.
"The victim was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment, thankfully her injuries were not life threatening," he said.
"Police would like to thank the members of the community who assisted the investigation, and we are calling for any additional witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward."
"Anyone who was driving through the area at the time and has dash cam footage is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers Tasmania at crimestopperstas.com.au."
"You can stay anonymous."
"These sorts of incidents are not acceptable in our community, and I want to assure people that police take matters like this extremely seriously."
"If you see violent or anti-social behaviour occurring, please contact police."
