Charles Darwin University Expands to UK

NT Government

The CLP Government has congratulated Charles Darwin University's decision to expand higher education offerings to the United Kingdom.

CDU's decision to explore transnational education marks the beginning of an innovative approach for the export of this industry in the Northern Territory.

It also presents an opportunity for CDU to grow student numbers and keep the university on a sustainable path.

CDU will deliver a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Information Technology (MIT) online in the final quarter of 2025 and establish a study centre in London.

Minister for International Education, Migration and Population Robyn Cahill said: "This is a bold and innovative approach by CDU to expand its footprint to the UK and grow international student numbers unrestricted."

"The international education and training sector is a significant industry for the Territory, representing the NT's second largest services, and sixth largest goods and services export in 2023," she said.

"The Northern Territory has a world-class higher education and training sector, and we want to increase the number of international students studying with our Territory providers.

"We will continue to work with industry and the Australian Government to push for changes to international student policy that will support the Northern Territory."
