Mitchell Youth Services is thrilled to announce the launch of Youth Fest 2024, a month-long celebration packed with exciting activities and events designed to engage and empower young people across the region.
Youth Fest is a state-wide celebration in Victoria that shines a spotlight on local opportunities for young people to develop their skills, explore new interests, and, most importantly, have fun. This year, Mitchell Youth Services has teamed up with various organisations throughout Mitchell Shire to offer an incredible range of events, training sessions, workshops, and celebrations throughout September.
Whether you're looking to learn something new, connect with peers, or just enjoy some great entertainment, Youth Fest 2024 has something for everyone.
Here's a sneak peek at what's in store, all initiatives are supervised, safe, inclusive and FREE:
- Saturday 7 September - Kilmore Skate Comp: head down to the Kilmore Skate Park with prizes to win for Skate, Scoot and BMX heats. Everyone welcome, make sure you bring your helmet.
- Tuesday 17 September - Seymour Youth Room Launch: Come down and celebrate the launch of the new Seymour Youth Room location, there will be tunes, snacks, Wi-Fi and of course the Nintendo Switch.
- Sunday 22 September - Youth Fest Bike Bonanza: Head over to Broadford BMX Track for Wheel House Bike's Bike Bonanza there will be bicycle related games and competitions, giveaways, and a free sausage sizzle lunch.
- Monday 23 & 30 September - Floods in Focus: Tell your story of the 2022 Seymour Floods through photography, contributing towards both digital and hard copy photobooks for the community to enjoy.
- Wednesday 25 September - The Beauty Biz: Beauty Industry Workshop. This is a half day practical workshop for young people aged 16-24, ideal for those with entrepreneurial goals and an interest in the beauty industry, wanting to learn more about the required skills in beauty and lashes.
- Sunday 29 September - Golf Clinic: Learn or improve your golf swing with PGA professionals.
