Air Force's newest aviators were welcomed by the Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) General Angus Campbell at their graduation - the Chief's last Air Force parade before his tenure ends next month.
On June 12, the 1 Recruit Training Unit recruit course 08/24 marched on and formed up with pride ready for the CDF to review.
Witnessing the next generation of aviators was the highlight of his day, said General Campbell.
"Enthusiastic, energetic and bright young Australians coming into service; they are impressive, keen and are very well trained. I look at their future very optimistically," General Campbell said.
"The way to a fulfilling service is to give your best and to follow the values of working together.
"There is nothing this organisation can't achieve if people use that advice in guidance of their service. I think they'll have a fabulous experience."
He said he appreciated the bright young faces of the new aviators, which reminded him of his own time as a cadet.
After the march-out, General Campbell expressed gratitude to the families and friends for their support.
"I thank you for the love, care and nurturing support, because sometimes during the course, people might have been a bit homesick," General Campbell said.
"I'm delighted that everybody's here before this next generation of aviators."
He explained that their journey had just begun and encouraged them to embrace the opportunities ahead.
"The journey you've embarked on is just the beginning of a remarkable adventure in serving our nation," he said.
"There are very few people in Australia who volunteer to serve. This is something extraordinary and for that I'm deeply appreciative."
After six years as CDF, his final march-out will be at the Royal Military College later this year, marking his last parade as the reviewing officer.
